Excerpts from the booklet

The Concerto in C minor for Two Harpsichords BWV 1062 is a transcription of the Concerto in D minor for Two Violin and Strings BWV 1043. The latter work has already found presentation in its original from this recording series (Vol. III). In his arrangement Bach transposed the work by a whole tone in order to make it possible to play the top tone e’’’ frequently occurring in solo violins on the harpsichords as d’’’ and thus so as not to have to rework the melodic lines. (Prof. Dr. Werner Breig)

Excerpts from the reviews

(FonoForum)
